Restaurant Drahthammer Schloss'l

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place!!!

Amazing!........I was mesmerized by this place before we ever stepped foot inside! The outside at night is enchanting; beautifully lit patios and terraces right on the river! Once you're in the door the combination of pillowed ceilings and the dim lights reflecting in the sparkling crystal glassware was very picturesque! We were offered the opportunity to choose their candlelight special (a five-course meal with pre-set options) or to order ala carte; we opted for the later. Unlike many restaurants we've been to in this area, they do offer a sweet white wine. After starting with a bowl of outstanding lobster bisque (garnished with a huge lobster roll), my husband's filet was perfectly done to order, and my Scallops and Prawns with Risotto were amazing. The servers wore white gloves to present our food. Our primary server (Susan) spoke English and was most accommodating! As if I needed anything more to make me love this place, the live piano music began; I'm not sure if that's an every night feature or just on the weekends, but it was just one more element of class!

Because of its romantic setting, I'm guessing this is more of a dinner destination for couples (as opposed to families); this probably explains why we couldn't get reservations on Valentine's Day even ten days out! I will be making my reservations EARLY for Valentines 2021!

The also do many specials aside from the Friday evening candlelight dinners; we made reservations for Easter brunch but everything was shut down (2020). I've noticed that their patio is open and I've heard they do amazing Sunday morning brunches!

They are located in Amberg, outside the City Center. (Drahthammerstraße 30). If you prefer not to take your car out of the garage, you can get there by walking along the Vils river path towards Kümmersbruck. Check them out!

A Class Act! So Impressive; I can't wait to go back again!

Oh! It's also a hotel! Can only imagine how elegant that part must be!
